Laura Dable

Laura A. Dable is a registered patent attorney and focuses her practice on patent, trademark and copyright prosecution. She has written and prosecuted numerous patent and trademark applications and has supervised the preparation and prosecution of many others, both in the U.S. and abroad. She also counsels clients in intellectual property portfolio development strategies.

Laura has been an associate with the firm since 1998. She is admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Bar Association, Milwaukee Bar Association, Waukesha County Bar Association, Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, and American Intellectual Property Law Association, and International Trademark Association.

Laura’s intellectual property experience includes filing and prosecuting patent, trademark and copyright applications, licensing intellectual property, and counseling clients on intellectual property issues. She regularly counsels clients on aspects of intellectual property law such as providing legal opinions on patent and trademark infringement and validity. Laura has helped clients acquire and protect intellectual property rights through prosecution of utility and design patent applications, prosecution of trademark and copyright applications, and commencement of trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Laura’s patent practice has a particular industry focus on patents in the mechanical arts, and she has written and prosecuted patents in diverse areas. Some examples of her patent prosecution docket include resealable packaging technology, cheese manufacture, and wound care products. In addition, she has experience managing international PCT patents under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, and has supervised the filing and prosecution of international patents and trademarks.
